We liked the 35 Years of Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., presented in: Retro Game Culture with the tag: 35 Years of Mario, 35 Years of Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch in 35: When Super Mario Bros. G&W opened it and held it in “his” hand, as if “he” were on an elementary school playground, impressed with this little gadget from Nintendo, and showed it to our friends. At the time of writing, we still had some friends who hadn’t yet received their units. Nintendo knows how to pull the strings of our nostalgia, as we ordered the gadget right after it was released in early September. The only problem was that this new G&W did not come with the small plugin holder that old school units had. The appearance, including the D-pad and buttons, was removed from Nintendo. The transparent cover on the gold package was a sign that this thing was something special.
