Arlasoft: Another finished game this time Galaga’s big

Arlasoft: Another finished game, this time Galaga’s big brother, Galaxian! All enemy attack codes have been transferred directly from the Z80 arcade for authenticity, and it also includes a two-player cooperative mode and an accelerated playthrough mode. Galaxian became the second best-selling arcade game in 1979 and 1980 in Japan and the second best-selling arcade game in 1980 in the United States, where it became one of the best-selling arcade games of all time, with 50,000 arcade units sold in 1982. Galaxian has appeared on Indie Retro News several times before, mostly because it’s a classic arcade game that home developers love to clone with special effects and add-ons. This time we’re going back to the original 1979 hit, as Arlasoft has ported this classic retro shooter to the C64, complete with all the nostalgic elements like sound effects and waves of animated enemies. Wikipedia says of this game, “Galaxian was Namco’s first big hit arcade game. A great game for the C64, especially since it was made by the same developer who created the ports of Galaga, Taz, and even Fast Food. The game was highly praised for its gameplay and use of color graphics.” You can download it for free or play it in your browser. Developed by Blogger.
