Rosetta Stone® Being – Speaking Spanish I have visited

Speaking Spanish, I have visited eight countries in Latin America and want to visit more. Visiting a place where you don’t know the language can be equally enjoyable, I feel safe traveling knowing that I can move around and communicate. Knowing the language well is not only important for personal safety when traveling, but also for health and food safety. Hera mission ission is to help women travel safely, and as part of that, we produce safety guides for each destination with helpful key phrases. For example, the first time I went to Buenos Aires, my friend and I took an Uber ride through the city, thinking we’d find WiFi again and call someone else to get back on Airbnb. Language barriers can be frustrating, but it doesn’t help that no one talks incredibly fast and repeats the same thing over and over. I spent hours a week adding new words to my vocabulary, learning the subtle nuances of grammar, and every time I could go from spoken sentences to paragraphs, I was thrilled. The language barrier, however, can be difficult to overcome and make the journey a bit daunting. After a great day downtown, it was time to head home. We had a few more drinks at the bar, where the sign proudly said there was WiFi. It was something most kids would never take seriously, but when I decided to take Spanish lessons, I fell in love with the language. Normally it would have put me off a little, but because I spoke Spanish, I was able to talk to the locals and learned that we could take the subway back to our neighborhood. I feel much more comfortable traveling in Latin America. Check out Rosetta Stone’s “Your Plan” once you book your trip.
