We are in the era of non-physical and fully virtual fairs – it remains to be seen whether this will continue in 2021, but this is a reality for most events today. I’m a big fan of video games, and since 2008 I have had my own game room, The Game Grid Arcade in West Valley City, Utah. Usually at this time of year, the industry hosts an AAMA gala event in the Chicago area. Since this year’s physical meetings are an abomination, the gala is still on YouTube. It is always a discreet event where manufacturers come together and present new products after a series of seminars. The virtual event UNIS Showcase 2020, which takes place in October, even promotes the functionality of the QR code IMHO, which they haven’t promoted before quite widely.
