GSE Teacher Toolkit – By allowing your students to go

By allowing your students to go through the GSE Teacher Tools to create their goals, you ensure that your classes are aligned to their goals and focused on the skills they want to learn. It provides a step-by-step guide to using the toolkit to help your students set SMART language learning goals. By setting SMART goals, you help your students become masters of their learning process and feel motivated to struggle. Otherwise, it’s an opportunity for individual planning to support individual learning goals and set appropriate deadlines for your students. Setting goals is an important step in the language learning process and has proven to help learners build on their efforts and achieve better results. A goal should have personal meaning for the learner, so it is important that learners can choose their own goals for their own reasons. The next question you should ask your student is, “Can this goal be measured? In other words, how does your student know that he or she has passed? In the example above, a test would be a good way to measure progress to see if your student has reached a level after a long period of study. This is where teachers and students on the Global English Teacher Scale can really help. Here’s your role as a teacher, guiding students through the process of creating SMART goals for yourself. It’s hard to set goals in the language classroom if students don’t speak the language they’re trying to set them in. And if some goals are not part of your curriculum, you can include them if they are a goal for most students. Learn more about SMART goals for language learners. And this is an easy way for students to see what SMART goals are for English. Now you can collect all the goals students want to achieve by writing down the most popular ones. Holiday Recipes | – To learn more about the Christmas tree

To learn more about the Christmas tree, we spoke with Coach Candice and Coach Jennifer, both native French speakers. While many of us would love to enjoy a Christmas tree in France, we are sharing a traditional French Christmas tree recipe so you can enjoy this French tradition all over the world. La Búche de Noël is a traditional cake that is very popular during the holidays and, as the name implies, is served as a chest. One of those Christmas traditions is to try a Christmas tree or English tribe. One bakery I know made a Christmas tree out of brownies, peanuts and popcorn! Nowadays, many people also enjoy a frozen Christmas cube made out of ice. This classic Christmas cake is now appreciated all over the world, but it is mostly found in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Canada, Lebanon, Syria, the UK, Portugal and Spain. Although the situation this year is not the same as in previous years, there are many traditions that help make the Christmas season a little more lively. The original Christmas tribe was a tribe that was burned each year as a Christmas tradition in regions of Europe. “It’s a classic way to wish someone a happy new year in the French way. The holidays are an opportunity to enjoy different traditions that have been passed down over the years. This year I am spending my first vacation in France. This French tree cake comes in many flavors. Micronutrition during the holidays reduces the culturally rich recipes traditionally made for the holidays, so you can still enjoy the holidays at home. This French superstition goes back to the Last Supper, when Judas, one of the thirteen diners, was a traitor. Use another iron to hold it in place, flip it over, and roll it up with a tea towel.

Communication Tips – We have older teachers or not

We have older teachers, or not necessarily teachers with technology backgrounds, who need to learn how to zoom in and do presentations or interactive activities for students,” said Diana Hernandez, a fourth-grade teacher at Union Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles. Piper Taylor, a middle school teacher at Queen of Angels Catholic School in Newport Beach, California, acknowledges that virtual learning also seems “disconnected” from teachers. Jessica Montes, a third-year teacher in East Los Angeles, has experienced scheduling problems, last-minute cancellations, and late parental reactions to distance learning. Establishing a partnership with your child’s teacher is critical to the success of distance education. “Even if we’re physically far away, that doesn’t mean we have to be socially disconnected,” says Clarence McFerren II, a sixth- through eighth-grade teacher at Kiokasin College in Henrico, Va. Processes and schedules can change. So share your schedule with your child’s teacher to minimize travel to and from school. With the new trends in distance learning, it is important to remain flexible and transparent in order to stay in contact with teachers. If you talk to a teacher during the school year, remember that teachers face the same challenges as you do. Parents with heavy workloads may have difficulty educating their children. The year 2020 presents unprecedented challenges for educators, young students, and their families as they continue to learn from a distance. The new school year has already begun, and schools are preparing for the continuation of distance learning in 2021. You can allow your own children to participate in distance learning at home while they teach their children at a distance. Being aware of the challenges your teacher faces at your side and being patient throughout the process helps develop a meaningful, collaborative dialogue. If your child’s teacher has set weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., respect their limits and set their expectations accordingly. Moving from a school-based curriculum to a scale-based curriculum or digital platform can also lead to a lack of communication between teachers and parents. If you haven’t introduced yourself to your child’s new teacher, contact them.

Latin America – Tango songs and movements were so

Tango songs and movements were so successful that in the early 20th century entire orchestras made them a major theme. They traveled around the world to entertain audiences, all the way to the United States and Europe where they took root in remote Finnish towns and became a local tradition. Today, for many Argentines and Uruguayans, the tango is a monument, a true pride in an established musical expression that was listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009. However, it is also worth mentioning how tango has evolved in the modern era thanks to several musical enterprises such as the Gotan Project and Bajo Fondo Tango Club, promoters of the so-called “neo-tango”. The dance can be defined as a full embrace to the limit with rules and conventions about how each partner can move and behave while the music continues, although in general tango can be seen as a “paseo” with a partner and a melody. Tango was born in the late 19th century as a social dance in the poor neighborhoods of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Talk about tango is a rhythmic and intimate journey from Argentina and Uruguay to the rest of the world. But just as important as the way the tango is composed are the themes and the dance itself, fundamental characteristics of the genre. And even the military dictatorships of the 20th century could not erase the institution of the tango. All tango texts speak of sadness, long-lost love, and the desire for happiness, written directly or indirectly. Beginning in the 1880s, the tango became a phenomenon after it spread through Rio de la Plata through taverns and local theaters, and gradually gained a reputation for more than just some working-class habits. Like many other Latin American musical styles, it was inspired by several sources at once: the African-influenced candomba, the Latin American controversy, and the local milonga. Since 1977, there has even been a national tango day, December 11. I’m a culture and language nerd and a great foodie! Pearson English – Harry Waters one of the living classroom

Harry Waters, one of the living classroom teachers, says in his article about the course, “With so many indoor locations around the world, it was a great way for students to connect with each other in a dynamic, multicultural classroom, all from the comfort of their own homes.” Our winning project, Pearson and the BBC’s Living Classrooms Project, brings together high school teachers and students from around the world. They learn, respond, and participate in a global community of language learners and can communicate with the teacher and other students through dialogue and other online tools such as surveys, Mentimetro, and Padlet. This approach builds on the principles of face-to-face learning, but takes into account the digital tools required for distance learning and the various forms of interaction available online. With two billion people learning English in 2020, it’s a challenging year, big and small. When schools around the world closed their doors and millions of teachers first learned online, we looked for ways to help them. This year, we also updated and expanded the portal and our digital toolkit to make learning and distance learning easier. Not only did we have three nominations in different categories, but our team was proud to have ELTon win the Innovation in Learning Resources category with the Pearson Project and BBC live performances. Jane Forrest is director of global marketing for Pearson English Language Learning. Applicants are organizations, teams, and individuals working to transform English language teaching and learning. At the end of the year, we would like to thank all the students and teachers around the world who are committed to change and working hard to make education a priority. Teachers enroll their students in classes with as many as 450 students from around the world. This podcast is part of our new Pearson English Experiences project, which provides a new perspective on learning. From acquiring new skills to applying new teaching and learning methods, teachers around the world are challenged. Each classroom combines a safe online space and authentic resources with a culturally enriching learning experience. In many ways, he was ahead of his time, promoting live online education before it was imposed on the general public.

Latin America – Thanks to their special way of expressing

Thanks to their special way of expressing their folklore through music, the Zulu have made the bagpipe known throughout the country since the 1960s, not only as a crucial expression of the regional cultural identity of their state and the capital, Maracaibo, but also as the centerpiece of every December festival. Like other Latin American genres, the history of the bagpipe in Zulia began as a dynamic fusion of European, African and indigenous instruments and melodies, especially those around the Lake Maracaibo basin in the central state of Zulia in Venezuela since colonial times. The bagpipe is one of the most important parts of Venezuela’s musical heritage, because for decades it represented two very different elements: Zulian culture in general and the national holiday of Christmas and New Year. Therefore, since the 19th century, the themes of most bagpipe songs have revolved around family, friendship, or even the functioning of society, but with a special emphasis on Our Lady of Chiquinquira, also known as La Chinita, the patroness of Zulia, who is unusually revered. Naturally, a choir consisting of orchestra members and other singers is essential to any good bagpipe. However, modern bagpipes can add other accompanying elements, such as an electric bass, synthesizer, or flute. Sometimes Zulanos’ political and social identity–and “his” frustration with the political situation in Venezuela–is manifested through the bagpipes.
