According to Jimmy Williams, president and CEO of the Washington Literacy Center, the organization relies on writing communication, advocacy and accountability to show progress and gain the support of its programs and members. This year we’ll look at the more technical aspect of the dragon boat festival – the intense sport of dragon boat racing. Thanks to a tip from Earok, we now know that not only will the game be called Maria Renard Revenge and developed by DomKid, but it will be a Castlevania-style game with parallax, animated backgrounds and characters, new enemies and more yet to come. In April of this year, we drew your attention to a new game for the Amiga that had a Castlevania feel to it and was the developers’ first attempt at using the Scorpion engine. As mentioned, the game has beautiful graphics, a wonderful soundtrack, smooth scrolling and different levels of parallax. But from what we can see in the video above or at the link here, you play as a girl who must traverse dangerous landscapes, protecting herself with the help of a bird that protects “her” from evil. In a way, I’m sad that Led Zeppelin is now in my playroom, because now that it’s happened, it won’t happen again. Will it ever happen again? Will we ever be able to say never? I don’t think anyone expected another KISS pinball machine until the Stern machine came out a few years ago, but in reality it’s very, very unlikely – says the guy who thought a Led Zeppelin pinball machine was also unlikely, but saw it happen anyway. And the designer was Steve Ritchie, who also designed our first, beloved game! Knowing Steve’s biography, he expected Led Zeppelin to be a special theme for him to work with, and he also had an idea of what a Steve Ritchie Led Zeppelin pinball game might be like. Dan was able to combine his love of Led Zeppelin and pinball by carefully setting up his Led Zeppelin LE pinball, and we thank him for taking the time to share his thoughts and ideas with us. We met with Dan and asked him to tell us about his love of Led Zeppelin, his love of pinball, what it means to finally have a Led Zeppelin pinball machine, and of course, to tell us all the little details about his wonderful LZ LE pinball machine. When it was announced that Matchbox Led Zeppelin machines would be released in late 2019, I started thinking that if that happened, there might be a Led Zeppelin pinball machine. Rocket City Pinball’s coin-operated buttons contain 3D-printed objects – the mysterious sculpture depicted on the Led Zeppelin album cover “Presence.” At the same time, I discovered that there are many Led Zeppelin live recordings and fake studio performances, and they are full of such exciting moments as the album tracks we hear countless times on the radio, at sporting events, etc. Like all subsequent live albums since Song Remains the Same soundtrack was the only available Led Zeppelin live recording, the songs were familiar but improvised in various five-dimensional pretzels at every performance, especially early in their career. During a break in the studio, in a “Hey, why not?” moment, I answered an ad on a music store bulletin board looking for a vocalist and joined a band that played a lot of Led Zeppelin songs. There are still a few edits I haven’t done yet for various reasons, and I have some projects in the works – a 2006 Jimmy Page set from NECA that’s still in the box, and some potential stickers for the Zeppelin side, but I think I’m okay for now, honestly. I got the urge to play pinball again after my son played the Gottlieb Tee’d Off pinball machine at the fair when he was under three, and it became the pinball machine of a lifetime for his first ball. Online worlds can be dynamic, completely permanent and customizable to the player, not just unchanging cardboard backgrounds with money an inch deep and a mile wide. We have the technology: thanks to the power of cloud computing, we can do things with simulation and AI that previously seemed impossible. I’ll tell you what: yes, worlds can be as alive as real places. Places where you can create your virtual home and make a statement. Waveshare GPM280 Portable – The last emulation console to
The last emulation console to hit our office was the Waveshare GPM280 portable gaming console from the Raspberry Pi 3. When we unpacked the GPM280, we were immediately impressed by its attractive appearance, which is reminiscent of Nintendo’s impressive Game Boy Micro Famicom model released for the company’s 20th anniversary. The GPM280’s quality and versatility are very impressive, but the big question remains: how does it play? The short answer: it plays them very well and accurately. We haven’t played any adventures with a lot of text, so we can’t say how the system and the screen perform in such games. If you have big hands, you know that the GB Micro was an impossible challenge for you. Fortunately, the GPM280 is a larger device that may be suitable for those with large hands. The Waveshare GPM280 impresses with its build quality, modern hardware and ease of use, but it comes at a price. The aforementioned 2.8-inch IPS display is the optimal size, it’s quite bright and clear, and the color gamut makes gaming on this particular system look like gaming on a tube TV. To emulate our favorite video games in recent years we have had access to many portable devices, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Unlike the GB Micro’s metal case, the GPM280’s body is made of plastic, which stands out for its shiny metallic hue and fits comfortably in your hand. If you have clean ROMs, you won’t run into problems like fuzzy sound or image clipping, as was the case with some of our Lynx and Nintendo 64 games.
